For the first time in the history of the Tour de France, the race starts from our city. It has been an exciting few days, with Barcelona embracing world-class cycling and enjoying a vibrant atmosphere of sportsmanship.
The Tour de France is one of the world's most prestigious annual cycling events. Covering hundreds of kilometres before finishing in Paris, Barcelona has featured several times throughout the race's history as the host of individual stages, namely in the 1957, 1965 and 2009 editions. In 2026, however, the city becomes the official host of the Grand Départ for the very first time.
This edition of the Tour has once again linked the Anella Olímpica with the Sagrada Família, two of Barcelona's most iconic landmarks. They were already connected last June during the visit of Pope Leo XIV, and this time they come together to celebrate cycling and the spirit of sport.
The Sagrada Família hosted the official team presentation, where hundreds of cycling fans gathered to enjoy the event live.
The Anella Olímpica, serving as the Tour's logistics hub, has also been at the heart of the action, hosting the finish of the opening stage: the team time trial.
