Corteo, which means entourage in Italian, is a joyful procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown. The show brings together the passion of the actor with the grace and power of the acrobat to immerse the audience in a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity located in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.

The clown imagines his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, watched over by silent guardian angels. Juxtaposing the big with the small, the ridiculous with the tragic, and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection, the show highlights the clown's strength and fragility, as well as his wisdom and kindness, to illustrate the portion of humanity that is within each of us. The music becomes lyrical and playful taking Corteo through a timeless celebration where illusion mocks reality.

The concept and layout of the stage brings the viewer into a theatrical atmosphere never before seen in Cirque du Soleil shows in a pavilion. The curtain set, inspired by the Eiffel Tower, and the hand-painted center curtains give the stage a grand feel. This sets the tone for Corteo's poetry.

Corteo's cast includes 51 acrobats, musicians, singers and actors from around the world.
