On 27th March 2021, the first concert for 5,000 people without safety distance was held at Palau Sant Jordi.
This pilot test was an initiative between the world of culture and the scientific community, who worked together to demonstrate that culture is safe.
Concert attendees and workers underwent a COVID-19 antigen test on the morning of the concert. Access to the concert was only guaranteed for those who tested negative and, in addition, it was mandatory to wear a FFP2 mask that was given to the attendees, but there were no safe distance. The audience was divided into 4 different areas at the floor of the venue from where they could enjoy Love of Lesbian's live performance. The access and exit lanes of each sector were different, which made it possible to follow the audience afterwards.
On 27th April 2021, at the press conference, the organisers of "Festivals per la Cultura Segura" announced the results of this event, which was described as a success with a number of 6 contagions, 4 of which occurred outside the venue.
The whole world echoed the news. Once again, Barcelona has been a pioneer and a reference city. Not all this would have been possible without the civility that the attendees and participants experienced in such an exciting moment.
