Dansa Ara is a contemporary dance event organised by Ajuntament de Barcelona. A consolidated activity that forms part of the strategic plan of the Anella Olímpica, where pupils in the initial cycle of Barcelona's schools demonstrate their knowledge of rhythmic and expressive movement corresponding to their educational stage through dance. Dansa Ara aims to promote the learning of children's rhythmic and artistic skills through contemporary dance.
After two years of being held at the Olympic Stadium, Dansa Ara has once again brought 9,234 students from 235 schools, teachers (1,040 teachers) and their families (about 16,000 people) to Palau Sant Jordi. The event, which is held in two morning sessions, is an annual event.
We had the opportunity to see the youngest members of the family dance to "Tamburo & la Ritirata Maestroso" by Boccherini; "Hawaiian Lollipop" by The Waikikis; "500 millas" by The Proclaimer's; "Poltsa Berr" by Quico Pugès; "Jungle Blues" by Pepet i Marieta; "Grande Valse de Francisco Tàrrega" and "Eso que tú me das" by Pau Donés.
A burst of music, dance and colour!
