Palau Sant Jordi was born determined to defy the "elements". It was not long before the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games, but in March of that year, the venue was "flooded" with a sea to host the 1st Indoor Windsurfing Competition.

That was the first of other floods that came with the World Swimming Championships in 2003 and 2013. But we also saw the arrival of the snow under the dome of the venue, in 1993 with the I Ski Indoor and in 2011 with the World Snowboarding Championships, the ice with the Disney shows, and the earthen tones on the floor with the Supercroos Indoor or Dirt Track.
