Residente, the Puerto Rican rapper and ex-member of the band Calle 13, started off his world tour ‘Las letras ya no importan’ on Saturday 14th September at Palau Sant Jordi.
Far from the melodrama that predominates in the songs on his new album, the artist offered a ‘combative’ concert, showing his most committed side to all causes. And ‘lyrics do matter’ when Residente sings them.
Seven musicians, a typist who typed almost everything the artist said and the drawings of an illustrator on the stage screen were part of a show with hits such as ‘Baile de los pobres’, ‘No hay nadie como tú’ and ‘’Atrévete-te-te-te'. Anthems from their career with Calle 13 such as ‘La vuelta al mundo’ and ‘Muerte en Hawaii’ and ‘Lo aguanto’ led the audience to the maximum fun of the night. A night that ended with Silvia Pérez Cruz as guest, a performance that brought the show to a close.
