The 20-year-old artist, originally from the Lower East Side, burst onto the music scene in 2021 in the wake of the pandemic, thanks to his own music becoming an outlet for the physical and social isolation brought on by COVID-19. His song "Caroline," released in 2022, became an anthem, causing a stir online. The single was independently produced, written, and released when sombr was just 16 years old, and has since accumulated over 40 million streams on Spotify.

sombr has continued to release EPs and new music since then, currently surpassing 2 million daily streams and approaching 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify. His songs "would've been you," "do I ever cross your mind," and his recent single "back to friends" have already become indie rock hits.

With his distinguished sonic instinct and an insatiable curiosity to experiment with new sounds, sombr conveys a sense of permanence.
