For their ninth album, Michael Poulsen decided to leave behind established rules and work more instinctively, recalling the creative process of his early days. "In the past, I've taken a long time to write and obsessed over many elements of songs before finishing them," explains Poulsen. "This time, I wanted to make a Volbeat record without overthinking it. There are no rules. I can do whatever I want."

With 'God Of Angels Trust,' Volbeat embarks on a new creative path, one in which freshness and experimentation are key. "It was an experiment to see what we could do when we threw away all the tools we've built up throughout our career," says Poulsen. "We jumped in the deep end and had fun making it work."
